| The full trip is 9 k (one way). The first 6 K are very tough with lots
of switch backs. On the last 3 K you will pass Barrier lake and Lesser
Garibaldi lake which are nice to fish as well but much smaller. However
you are more protected on the smaller lakes when you are considering
using your float tube. Winds can be quite strong on the Garibaldi,
depends on the time of year. The hike is long and you should consider
3-4 hours or less depends on your hiking ability. Also consider
carefully what you need to pack on gear for one day. The backpack
is getting heavy after a while :-). It should take you about
2-2.5 hours for the downhill trip.
