This old fly is always a staple. Use it to catch your first fish on the lake and then stomach pump to see what they are eating.

| I go to this lake with the kids once a week. Its easy to entertain them if you put on a type 2 clear line and let the line get down. With the boys I troll the fly, but alone I cast and use a very slow finger tip retrieve. Basically treat the streamer as you would a chronomid. The fish in this lake are all very small it seems.
In the afternoons make sure to keep away from shore while fishing. The fish all move into deeper water as the sun comes up in these lakes. And slow and steady will catch you more fish and bigger fish!
