went to sasamat today for an hour or so. used a small gibbs spoon, had a few bites, but didn't catch any.
Went to deer lake (harrison) on the weekend, caught one rainbow, many bites.

I've caught a few at sasamat. What other stuff works there?

just hook and worm under a float work well. Especially after the rain. I usually fish from the floating bridge, or a little further down the trail.

I always use shrimp at Sasamat.
Seems to be the bait of choice. ( the fish eat better than I do ! )
Got skunked the last three times I've been there....But I will return soon.

Ah yes..that is the question.
From what I saw , pretty much everyone else was skunked as well.
Most people I talk too at the lake are using shrimp.
I've been there maybe 100 times and I just found shrimp "usually" worked best.

If you get bored of bobber fishing at Sassamat. Tye on a small troll with a wedding band and worm and about have about a half ounce of weight up the line. Cast it out on one end of the floating bridge hold your rod out and slowy walk it to the other side. I caught a 3 1/2 pound cutty last year doing that, and lots of rainbows(No kidding!!!). If you get bored of that,drop a trebble hook to the bottom by the swimming area with a weight and heavy line you would be surprised at how many lures you can pull up. People loose stuff to the bottom all the time.

And if you get busted with a treble hook on in that lake, it will be bags of fun explaining why.

I never fish with treble hooks, or even barbed hooks for that matter. But I can't seem to find where it says in the regulations that using a treble hook is illegal (in Sasamat lake). Can some post a link to show me??? Or tell me what page its on in the regulations???
